I will not lie, I will tell you the truth I signed on late this evening, I was rockin' the blues But whatever this game is I always seem to lose! And I was laggin', laggin' all the time Yeah I was laggin', laggin' all the time Well, is it any wonder I'm left so far behind? I went wanderin' around, lookin' for somethin' to see I wanna fly to the moon, press down on my 'Home' key And then I found myself sittin' on the bottom of the sea! And I was laggin', laggin' all the time Yeah I was laggin', laggin' all the time Well, is it any wonder I'm left so far behind? Went to the show to see my girl so we could dance close But it was so crowded that my laptop froze I reset my gear, b the time I got back on Some griefer done stole my lady and gone! And I 'm laggin', laggin' all the time Yeah, laggin', laggin' all the time Is it any wonder I'm left so far behind? Well, it's a sad ordeal when your bandwidth's too weak I'm gonna take myself to 'Frisco, down, down to Battery Street I'm gonna walk right into Linden Labs, and bust right into their Optical-fiber network lines, never hear me cryin'! And I 'm laggin', laggin' all the time Yeah, laggin', laggin' all the time Is it any wonder? Is it any wonder at all? Is it any wonder I'm left so far behind?

So grab your rose and ring side seat, We're back home at Conry's bar The blond girl with her tattoo, Reds and wine, cokes of course Oh my suzy, my suzy, Why did we ever start It's morning now, you'd never know The gin, the gin, glows in the dark, glows in the dark And underneath, the black light, Underneath it all Four and forty redheads meet, Come to doom 'til the dawn With threats of gas and rose motif Their lips apart like a swollen rose Their tongues extend, and then retract A redcap, a redcap, before the kiss, before the kiss. Doors like flint and window panes An endless shadow bar The owner's boys have gone to work To stop big deals behind the bar While outside on the turnpike They got this new hit tune Where thrills become as cheap as gas And gas as cheap as thrills One thrill and mundane here at last Expect the cross one more Lecherous invisible Beware the limping cat Whose black teeth grip between loose jaws Still ripe and fully bloomed A rose that's not from anywhere That you would know or I would care And the owners boys act most cheerfully Back home at Conry's bar When their patrons' thoughts at last Grow too big for their skulls And awful things are happening We've let this drama fold And now the time has come at last To crush the motif of the rose. So grab your rose and ring side seat We're back home at Conry's bar The blond girl with her tattoo Reds and wine, cokes of course Oh my suzy, my suzy Why did we ever start It's morning now, you'd never know The gin, the gin, glows in the dark, glows in the dark

My time coming, anyday, don't worry about me, no Been so long I felt this way, I'm in no hurry, no Rainbows and down that highway where ocean breezes blow My time coming, voices saying they tell me where to go. Don't worry about me, nah nah nah, don't worry about me, no and I'm in no hurry, nah nah nah, I know where to go. California, preaching on the burning shore California, I'll be knocking on the golden door Like an angel, standing in a shaft of light Rising up to paradise, I know I'm gonna shine. My time coming, anyday, don't worry about me, no It's gonna be just like they say, them voices tell me so Seems so long I felt this way and time sure passin' slow Still I know I lead the way, they tell me where I go. Don't worry about me, no no no, don't worry about me, no and I'm in no hurry, no no no, I know where to go. California, a prophet on the burning shore California, I'll be knocking on the golden door Like an angel, standing in a shaft of light Rising up to paradise, I know I'm gonna shine. You've all been asleep, you would not believe me Them voices tellin' me, you will soon receive me Standin' on the beach, the sea will part before me Fire wheel burning in the air! You will follow me and we will ride to glory, way up, the middle of the air! And I'll call down thunder and speak the same and my work fills the sky with flame and might and glory gonna be my name and men gonna light my way. My time coming, anyday, don't worry about me, no It's gonna be just like they say, them voices tell me so Seems so long I felt this way and time sure passin' slow My time coming, anyday, don't worry about me, no Don't worry about me, no no no, don't worry about me, no and I'm in no hurry, no no no, don't worry about me, no.

In the dark Where all the fevers grow Under the water Where the shark bubbles blow In the mornin' By yer radio Do the walls close in t' suffocate ya You ain't got no friends . . . An' all the others: they hate ya Does the life you been livin' gotta go, hmmm? Well, lemme straighten you out About a place I know . . . (Get yer shoes 'n socks on people, It's right aroun' the corner!) Out through the night An' the whispering breezes To the place where they keep The Imaginary Diseases, Now, this has to be the disease for you Scientists call this disease "Bromidrosis" But us regular folks Who might wear tennis shoes Or an occasional pump or python boot Know this exquisite little inconvenience By the name of: STINK FOOT Y'know, my python boot is too tight I couldn't get it off last night A week went by, an' now it's July I finally got it off An' my girl-friend cry "You got STINK FOOT! STINK FOOT, darlin' Your STINK FOOT puts a hurt on my nose! STINK FOOT! STINK FOOT! I ain't lyin', Can you rinse it off, d'you suppose?" Here Fido . . . Fido . . . C'mere little puppy . . . bring the slippers "Arf, arf, arf!" (crash-crumble-bump-bump-bump) Heh heh heh . . . sick . . . Well then Fido got up off the floor an' he rolled over An' he looked me straight in the eye An' you know what he said? Once upon a time Somebody say to me (This is a dog talkin' now) What is your Conceptual Continuity? Well, I told him right then (Fido said) It should be easy to see The crux of the biscuit Is the Apostrophe(') Well, you know The man who was talkin' to the dog Looked at the dog an' he said: (sort of staring in disbelief) "You can't say that!" He said: "IT DOESN'T, 'n YOU CAN'T! I WON'T, 'n IT DON'T! IT HASN'T, IT ISN'T, IT EVEN AIN'T 'N IT SHOULDN'T . . . IT COULDN'T!" He told me NO NO NO! I told him YES YES YES! I said: "I do it all the time . . . Ain't this boogie a mess!" THE POODLE BITES THE POODLE CHEWS IT

about

The "Dreadful Gate" were Second Life virtual internet musicians playing roughly biweekly in the sim called "DarkStar" from 2012-2017. Kurt Karsin (aka drummis) is located in New York and Jackson Xaron in California, so the internet and virtual reality have been instrumental (pun intended) to these two RL brothers joining forces again, as they did in high school in their shared bedroom so many years ago. They use looping and fx technology to play a full mix of ambient/space, improvised fusion rock, and cover songs from a variety of artists, including the Grateful Dead.
